Miss Emmeline Larkspur was out & about perambulating in her Bath Chair as part of Whitby Goth festival weekend, accompanied by her faithful companion Ms. Vivien Mousdell & Mr. Bill Hearnshaw who serenaded her with his bravuro violin playing.
Emmeline intended in good faith to accompany Bill on her zither (a good instrument if you are a life size puppet with only one dexterous hand!) but impossible to hear amidst all the hubbub so will need to mike her up next time, she is also considering a glockenspiel! Emmeline did however operate her own small dancing marionette, a vintage Pelham puppet painted & dressed to resemble her.
Our little group attracted quite a lot of attention from the flamboyant crowd & the numerous photographers. Here’s one of the best images from Glenn Kilpatrick of real-whitby.co.uk
